    Taiwanese Wok

Posted by Theodore Shultz on 18th Nov 2024

The wok is fantastic, and I would have given it 5 stars if it came with instructions on how to get it ready for its first use. I washed it and some of the factory oil/grease would not come off. I went online and searched for instructions on how to season a wok for its first use. The wok needed to be heated to a high temperature to burn off the residual oil/grease and then coated with fresh oil. I did this and the amount of soot created from heating the wok to a high temperature was significant. It blackened the paper towel that I use to clean it off the wok. It is now ready to go. I have used it several times and am amazed at how hot it gets. Fantastic wok!!!

    Great Wok!!

Watched a video of blueing a wok, made it happen and used it this morning to cook scrambled eggs. Totally non stick compared to the old non-stick coated one I just threw out. Wish I'd have bought this years ago.
